on wednesday, the ikebana international singapore chapter 135 celebrates it's 40th aniversary at ,ritz-carlton hotel n raised close to $70,000, which will go towards subsidising treatments for cancer patients at nuh.
In my opinion, the money raised should not only go to the cancer-stricken women and children at the nuh but also to other hospitals.I think that it is also good that the people have a good heart as they used their time to arrange flowers to sell it.It is amazing that they could raise close to $70,000 with now 200 members from different countries. All of them has a common interest and most singaporean should help raise funds too.Last christmas,it donated $5,000 through auction of flowers.Grace chua, president said that they feel that it is part of their obligation to extend a helping hand through the language of flowers.Overall,I think that flowers are not only for pretty decorations to brighten a room but it can be used to help others.

Dear Amabel,
Yes, with a charitable spirit, anything can be used to help the sick, poor and unfortunate. During this period of economic crisis, it is heartening to know that there are still people who care for these cancer patients, isn't it?
